Chasing Fairies

Across one long and starry night,
Where children see and others might
the fairies skip from place to place
To run from me in our daily race.

One will cheat and blink ahead,
One will fall and bump it's head.
Some will try to trick my eyes,
Laughing through the midnight skies.

I don't mind their nightly games.
If you don't discover their minor fames.
For I will blow my mighty shriek
And all you'll see, a sudden streak.
